This Launch Walk combines views of Clare’s unique built heritage (medieval castle ruins, Victorian railway buildings, country park and Priory). With the beautiful scenery of the Upper Stour Valley, including the common and medieval Erbury and the River Stour.

Please arrive at 10.30am for the Launch event, refreshments and nibbles. Café available in the Country Park. Weekend car parking charges £5 all day.

This Launch Walk explores all sections of Clare Castle Country Park, taking in the Park’s different green space habitats and heritage including the medieval castle ruins, the railway heritage, the new cut of the River Stour and the railway walk. There will also be the opportunity to visit the Park’s Visitor Centre and the Platform One café at the end of the walk.

Please arrive at 10.30am for the Launch event, refreshments and nibbles. Café available in the Country Park. Weekend car parking charges £5 all day.

Starting at the Main Runway and led by airfield historians, this walk follows footpaths to uncover the history of the old airfield. Although virtually flat, there are some uneven points and the walk is suitable for all, including pushchairs and supervised child cycles.

A fantastic opportunity to explore the rides and pathways of The Woodland Trust's majestic Priestley Wood in the stillness between sunset and nightfall. Join wildlife enthusiast Jon Tyler for a meander through the late Spring twilight world of an ancient woodland. Along the way we will listen out for Muntjac deer, tune in to the secret world of bats, and enjoy some refreshing birch sap and woodruff tea.

Please arrive early to begin walk at 7.45pm. Uneven ground and reduced visibility, so please bring a torch. Free car parking available at St Mary's Church, Barking IP6 8HU from 7.15pm. Donations welcome. Children over 10 only.
