The Challenge Walk Returns!

The Wool Towns Walk

This year’s Challenge Walk follows a brand-new trail linking up Suffolk’s stunning medieval wool towns. The wool towns came to prominence between the 14th and 16th centuries after weavers from Flanders settled here, the landscape being perfect for sheep farming and its rivers and streams suited to water mills needed to process wool.

The ‘Wool Towns Walk’ is a 63-mile circular trail completed over 4 days. Each day is a linear walk with transport provided. You can dip and out of the walk but anyone completing all 4 days will receive some very special prizes!

We are grateful to Sudbury Ramblers and Clare Walkers in creating the Wool Towns Walk and the East of England Coop for their generous support.

The Challenge Walk will run from the 14th to the 17th May – Save the Date – Tickets go on sale in March.
